Sinead Kimbrell (artistic director/dancer), received her Bachelors in Fine Arts from Ohio University Athens in 2001 with a focus on modern dance. An Irish dancer since the age of 5, she trained at the Burke School of Irish Dance of Cleveland before joining the Trinity Irish Dance Company of Chicago from 1997 to 2002 and the national touring group Tomaseen Foley’s Celtic Christmas in 2000 and 2003. While working with Trinity, Sean Curran set a solo on Sinead in which she performed while touring all over the USA, Taiwan and for a PBS documentary. Sinead now lives in Portland, Oregon where she teaches dance for Oregon Ballet Theatre. She is the Managing Director of Obo Addy’s Homowo African Arts & Cultures. As a choreographer she set a piece on the Trinity’s Junior Company entitle Searching Einstein (1999), had her piece The Lessons of Jiffy (2000) performed at the ACDFA in Maryland. In 2003, Sinead was invited to teach at the Ashland Dance Festival and received her first grant thru the Regional Arts & Culture Council of Portland. In 2004 SpugMotion made their debut at On the Boards in Seattle, Conduit Dance, Inc in Portland, and PICA's TBA Festival in Portland.
